Oh my gosh I freaking love this place. I love hibachi and I pretty much eat here twice a week. I try other places too and they're great but there's something about Shiki that seals the deal. Best ever!

I wanted to like Shiki because it was close, they have a big parking lot and seemed big enough to for any location. Sadly it was a disappointment.
The decor is fair, not much different than the local Japanese restaurant except their lighting is dim. It is very drafty and cold, almost all guests were wearing their coats while dining except one. They do have a couple of flat screens playing sports if that's you're thing.
Servers were nice but I felt like they either hovered or ignored you. The overall dinner service wasn't that busy but it just wasn't smooth. Food took about 15 minutes which is fair.
Menu is disappointing as many rolls were either shrimp and/or with spicy mayo. In my opinion, sushi restaurants lather up the spicy mayo to hide the lack of quality and freshness of the fish. Not that there were that many fresh fish options for the rolls.
I noticed they coated all of my rolls with spicy mayo and one definitely did not have that listed. I was tired, hungry and cold so I settled and ate it. Rolls were mediocre but edible. I am unsure if I'll return. Between being cold and eating way too much spicy mayo, the meal left me unsatisfied. I feel like Shiki is indecisive- it wants to be fancy but doesn't want to follow through. Either lower the price and continue to use cheap ingredients or step it up and charge more. I'd rather pay for quality over quantity. -

This was my first time ever at this Shiki location and I was not impressed. In general, I'm not impressed with Shiki anyway. I think the food here is below mediocre. Anyway, I came with a group of friends for the hibachi. We made a reservation and were seated quite quickly. The place is decent. Very spacious. I would recommend that if you get sushi to stay away from the sushi bar seating because it is right next to the restroom areas and unless you want to smell dirty toilets while you eat, stay away!
The hibachi menu is just like any hibachi menu anywhere. I ordered chicken and steak with fried rice. I don't believe our chef know what he was doing. He brought out a bunch of lemons and normally the shrimp and veggies should have a zest of lemon but he never ever touched the lemons. Our food was bland! The fried rice was already made and he basically warmed it up in front of us. Besides the beating heart shaped rice trick and "egg roll" (eggs roll off his spatula" trick, that was it! It wasn't entertaining. I don't like that he mixes the mushrooms with steaks and cook it and put it on our plates. I love mushroom but unfortunately some of our friends don't and mushrooms should be cooked separately preferably right after the vegetables.
Call me a griper or whatever, but hey I'm a huge fan of hibachi and I would not recommend Shiki for hibachi at all unless you like bland food and a less than entertaining show. -

I'm sitting here now... waiting on my check. With more than half of my sushi still on my plate. The taste is just sad. The quality is just sad. My experience was just depressing. This place is dead. I didn't make a fuss, I paid and left knowing I will never be back.

The hostess was rude and not very friendly. We had a reservation and she was surprised by that. The waitress was beyond slow, the salad didn't arrive until after our food was on our plates. The cook was messy and didn't have all of his supplies and barely spoke. He also cooked for the table beside us and was a lot friendlier and engaging with them. Our checks were all messed up and after being reminded who ordered what they were still incorrect. One guest in our party didn't even receiver her check, she had to ask. But the bathroom was clean. The bartender was friendly but not knowledgeable on the drinks she was preparing.
